Headed out to dinner in Murrells Inlet with a short list: Dead Dog, K-Rae's, or Crooked Floor Tavern... Went with an open mind cause after dozens of years vacationing here we know there can be a long, long, wait. After being quoted an hour and a half wait at Dead Dog, my family went with my suggestion to eat at Crooked Floor which other people have described to be the hidden gem of Murrells Inlet. I'm so glad we did! Our gracious server told us all about the specials - fresh caught Mahi served blackened with a tomato - based "low country' sauce, ribs, prime rib. I had the Mahi it was served with garlic mashed and sautéed veggies. It was perfect. The owner came to check on us and made it known we were very welcome. Glad we went. Didn't hurt we had a great meal all finished in less than the time at would have waited for a table across the street! We'll be back.

Terrible! Went to restaurant row and chose Crooked Floor Tavern based on previous Yelp reviews. We arrived at 8:00pm on a Tuesday night. All the other restaurants had 1.5 hour waits. Went into Crooked Floor, scarce in patrons, perhaps 8 people in whole restaurant. No tables in side, not sure where people actually sit except at bar. Asked male hostess if there were tables upstairs, he said 'go ahead up and look'. I proceeded upstairs, only bar patrons, no tables for eating. Came back downstairs and had to chase him down to ask to sit somewhere, even outside. We were seated outside and it took the waitress over 10 minutes to come get our drink order, and that was after I went back inside and asked. It became pitch dark, no lighting outside, we had to use our cellphones to read the menus. Ordered the Seafood sampler, absolutely the worst seafood I have ever eaten. The oysters were burned, dark brown. The shrimp tasted like spoiled fish and the fish fell apart as if it had been cooked from frozen state. The slaw tasted as if it was rancid. Asked for saltines, felt sick, and they, despite being individually sealed, were moist and bad. The waitress stated "sorry, we have had a lot of rain". Needless to say several of us became quite sick before daybreak after leaving. $105 dollar meal for our family, worst meal and service in over 20 years of eating anywhere South of Myrtle.

Excellent food and service . Stopped in unexpectedly and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the level of service. Across the street from the main restaurants in Murrells Inlet, but worth it.

If you're looking for a great meal, amazing atmosphere, fun and attentive staff, and the absolute best prices in the city, you MUST go here. There is a rooftop deck with full bar service that has a stunning view of the inlet as well as front yard seating and a lower level bar. I promise you won't be disappointed! Go earlier for dinner and a bit later if you want to drink.

Awesome food, awesome service! Do not wait two hrs at those big restaurants across the street. They don't even compare to the Crooked Floor!!! The crab cakes and filet mignon are phenomenal. ...and that sauce that comes with the crab cakes. To die for!

We decided to try this place out based on reviews and my husband likes the menu. Upon arrival, we were told that they were out of scallops and lobster. The manager made several excuses for it. We received our drinks pretty quickly but we're told a 10 top was ahead of us so it might take extra time. The restaurant was not busy at all. 2 tables sat after us and a few before us (not at the same time though, they were already there when we arrived!). We decided on what to order and placed an order. Our 3 year old only wanted cole slaw. After ordering, we were told they were out of that and offered chips as a substitute. We accepted. It took 50 minutes for our food. The manager kept coming over and apologizing. After we received our food it did taste good, but the manager was clueless on how to run a restaurant. We ordered a quesadilla and a strawberry salad. Why would this take 50 minutes?? If your kitchen can't handle a party of 10 that's concerning. Many other places in this area to try-I would avoid this place!

Wow ordered four meals, two surf and turf. $25 and they brought out two steaks with flounder. Said they only had one lobster tail left so they substituted with flounder. Steaks were ordered medium and was told they would be pink in middle but were served well done. Other two meals were burgers or should have been called hockey pucks. With so many great restaurants in Murrells Inlet avoid this one

We ate there twice on our vacation this week. Atmosphere was relaxing, staff was amazing accommodating 14 of us and food was the best around. We've been going to that area for 12 years and plan on making it a regular stop!

New owners, new name, but a location that has seen may previous restaurants. The upgrade in structure is a raised covered bar with the typical bar seating and tables for four. Cool breeze, great view overlooking restaurant row and the marina and marsh and inlet in the distance. Singular drawback is the smoking. More ash-trays than chairs is always a bad sign in a restaurant. No-smoking inside and downstairs, but the very cool overlook bar some 40 fee up allows smoking which when the breeze is blowing the wrong way can detract from your meal. Food: We ordered the Crab Cakes appetizer and you get two very healthy and plump cakes full of crab and low on filler. Very good... with a nice remoulade sauce on top. The Saltimbocca is enough to satisfy two adults and the Stwfield salad w/ steak is a health filling salad. Value: meal for 3 w/ just water as beverage came to just under $40. Service: Very nice hostess and our bar-tender and waitress(s) were really friendly and attentive. As we left it was starting to get a bit busy up there. The waitstaff sure earn their tips with multiple trips up and down the stairs. SaleebScore: 8/10 [ that would make it a 8.5/10 for a bar ]
